About the Thankful Baptist Church

Bessie J. Farris-Aigbadon Memorial Scholarship

  • Bessie J. Farris Aigbadon was appointed by former Pastor Harris J. Trapp as the first Chairperson of the Thankful Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry.
  • She served in this position from 1963 until her death in 2019
  • More than 150 students have been awarded over $100,000 in scholarships because of her efforts.
  • In 2019, the  Thankful Baptist Church Scholarship was renamed in her honor.
